Latest Game Results!  January 6th through the 9th, the Alaska Nanooks Women’s Hockey Club was on the road to play two elite ACHA Division 1 teams – Lindenwood University and Robert Morris University.  The Nanooks, a Division 2 club team, endeavored for a good showing against these top ranked teams.  In October, the Nanooks posted a 5-3 win against another Division 1 school, Colorado University.

Lindenwood University women’s hockey were ACHA Division 1 champions in 2006, 2008 and 2009; runners up in 2007.  Currently, Lindenwood is ranked #1 in ACHA Division 1.  Their overall team record for this season is 16-0-0.

Robert Morris women’s hockey were ACHA Division 1 champs in 2005 and 2007; runners up in 2006, 2008 and 2009.  Currently, Robert Morris is ranked #2 in ACHA Division 1.  Their overall season record ACHA: 14-5-3.

October Newsletter

Thank you, Fairbanks!  The October 10th wine and beer tasting fundraiser for the Alaska Nanooks women’s hockey team was a huge success.  The team would like to thank the community for their generous support and commitment to women’s hockey.  Go to the news page for a list of the fine businesses that made donations and pictures from the event.

The Alaska Nanooks Women's Hockey Team is officially in its first season.  The University of Alaska Fairbanks Women's Hockey Club has been recognized by the University of Fairbanks Alaska.  Working with Alaska Girls' and Women's Hockey, Inc., sponsoring organization of Arctic Bears girls' high school hockey team in Fairbanks, UAF now has a very competitive women's hockey team competing at the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACAH) Division 2 level.

The Alaska Nanooks Women's Hockey Club is looking for interested female hockey players that will be attending UAF.  According to ACHA policies a Division 2 player does not need to be considered a degree-seeking student but must enroll in a minimum of six credit hours of classes at UAF.  If you are interested in playing hockey at the college level, please let us know today!!!
