Alaska Nanooks Women's Hockey Team Updates!
Latest News!
NEW! University of Wisconsin-Stout Blue Devils: A fast, back and forth first period ended with a 1-1 tie. The Blue Devils scored first but the Nanooks responded with a goal by Lauren Bradley; her first of the season and in our most critical game. The second period doomed the Nanooks dreams’ of a National Championship. Mental mistakes opened the door for Wisconsin to showcase their incredible offensive talent and they erupted for 3 goals and a 4-1 lead entering the third period. The Nanooks, as they have all year, fought back in the final frame and Kowalchuk closed the game to 4-2 with just under seven minutes to go, but tournament MVP Kasey Bloomberg finished her hat trick just over a minute later as the Blue Devils held on to capture their first ACHA Championship. The Nanooks can take solace in that they were one of the few teams to hang with the Blue Devils all season and in fact outshot them 36-33 in the championship game. Congratulations to the Alaska Nanooks Women's Hockey Team and Coaches for a fantastic season! * See our Statistics page for a summary of all four of the team's games at the ACHA National Championship Tournament. * The Alaska Nanooks women’s hockey team is pleased to announce the release of its 2012 calendar.
